The stench began to corrupt their energies, they lost all sense and fell into a seeming coma. They remained in this state for a few weeks until they emerged in a corrupted state: they became the Putrid. The Putrid were the footmen of Reík, those who would descend upon villages and corrupt their inhabitants, creating more Putrid. Thus began the Reík's reign of malignance, and thus was the birth of "The Reeking One" - the moniker by which the world knew Reík.
